One day of the SLHF is dedicated to the area’s senior citizens. Celebrating its sixth year as a SLHF event on Thursday, June 14th, 2012 Senior Activities Day continues to grow. 

Senior Bingo and Meet and Greet starts the day with coffee and donuts at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn (donations accepted). Come early to visit with neighbors and friends. The American Legion Color Guard presents the flag and we take a moment for the Pledge of Allegiance and our National Anthem. Then the fun continues with Bingo that starts at 10:00 a.m. with wonderful donated prizes. 

Lunch follows at noon for the small fee of $5.

Then it is on to the Senior Ice Cream Social at The Little Red House - Adult Day Care Services located at 311 E. Exchange Street in Spring Lake. The Senior Ice Cream Social takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with free ice cream and wonderful entertainment under the tent.

Senior Art Mixer is an exciting addition to the Senior Day line up. It will be hosted at the Holiday Inn located at 940 W. Savidge, in Spring Lake from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event will showcase the talent and creativity of local artists, age 50 and up and provide an enjoyable and inspiring atmosphere for family, friends, and festival goers to try local wines and beer. $5 at the door will award you a voting ticket to vote on the piece of artwork that catches your fancy. For those 21 and up, your $5 ticket also gets 5 tastes of our featured wines and beer.

Artwork will be on display for everyone to enjoy and a shared cash prize will be decided solely by public vote during this wine and beer tasting mixer.

Artists' entries will be accepted starting March 1, 2012 until April 30, 2012. We will only be able to accept the first 50 entries.
